Wikipedia:Editor review/MikeLynch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MikeLynch (talk · contribs · count) Hello, I have been reviewed once already, some months back. But since then, I have made many more edits, so I would like my edits to be reviewed by a more experienced user. I am watching a lot of pages, and revert vandalism on them. Regards. Questions

  1. What are your primary contributions to Wikipedia? Are there any about which you are particularly pleased? Why?
My primary contributions relate to Bangalore, Karnataka, and related pages. I have also edited pages relating to colleges in India. Also, I could say that my primary contributions lie in reverting vandalism, and I take pride in removing vandalism. I am particularly pleased with my maintenance of the Bangalore article, and am also working on RVCE, PESIT
  2. Have you been in editing disputes or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? If you have never been in an editing dispute, explain how you would respond to one.
I have been in many editing disputes, and I have always acted civil. I am always open to discussion. I have also been the target of personal attacks, and have dealt with them in a proper manner. I realise that many are new to Wikipedia and are unaware of its policies. So, I keep that in mind while dealing with newcomers

Reviews

  • This is only my first real review so if you want to delist, go ahead.
You and I have crossed paths a few times regarding the Renaissance "confrence". You seem to be interacting well with other editors and your editing appears to be good. Your preview of policy is in line and you are on the path to potential adminship in the future. Hasteur (talk) 01:58, 12 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Review by PrincessofLlyr

Hello Mike. I am not a more experienced user, but perhaps a few of my comments will help you. If you do still seek comments from more experienced users, I would suggest that you try specifically asking a few. I have reviewed a sampling of your last 500 edits and here are my comments.

  • Your article work is strong. I was particularly impressed with your improvements to R. V. College of Engineering and Purswani.
  • I would suggest slowing down on article creation and trying to expand the ones you have created, specifically Nayandahalli, R. V. Pre University College, and S. S. Institute of Medical Sciences, all of which are stubs of just a few sentences.
  • This was the only questionable edit I came across, and would have been better added with a reliable source, or making some mention of why that is a notable fact.
  • Your dispute management and editor interaction seems fine. A good example I observed was a Talk:India, where you handled a content dispute calmly.

Over all, I think your contributions are sound and very helpful. Continue the good work! Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments here or on my talk page. PrincessofLlyr royal court 16:19, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
