| I think a lot of people like to hide behind their avatar. It'll be totally the opposite of their true persona but hey-it's just the internet and people like to hide because it's next to impossible to do that in real life. |

| i just assume that the person really enjoys that particular piece of art or artwork by a certain artist and they feel like it really resonates with them or maybe they have a song or two linked as well - i don't think it's at all enough to really make a solid impression of someone but it's often a quick way to observe how people want to be seen. |

| I used to change my youtube avatar a lot, but since 5 months ago I just leave it as is. If you keep it constant people usually remember the avatar which becomes a part of the profile which helps recognizability. |

| Someone's forum set does give me a first impression of what that type of person is probably like. If I see a really nicely photoshopped set then I assume them to be a creative and interesting person to talk to. If I see someone with a set of like a purposefully bad looking person or something I assume them to be an edgy teen and I'll probably avoid talking to them. |

| Good identifier? I'll usually remember users if they're striking I guess. For the longest time I only had similar avatars no sig. And sometimes I'm still uncomfortable with one cause the limit of this forum is shit but some people put high effort into their work and I appreciate that. |

| I change avatar,signature when I feel it is time to and usually it is fav characters. Though, the only thing which hints to me is, if sharing similar anime fav. In addition, sometimes I can tell by the art is done if female or male |
