Dont think the timing was off. The fact that faith in SEGA was totally lost after the Mega CD, the 32-X and then the Saturn was what nailed it. If they left it later and put it against the ps2 it would have got a bigger beating sadly. But I own one, with 200+ games and I love it, so am happy!

I revived this thread (instead of starting a new one), since the PSP is due to be issued soon in the UK...

I have a DS, but will be getting a PSP - I originally got a DS due to the cheaper price and the fact that the DS will also accept GBA cartridges, but having seen someone else with a PSP, I agree that both machines have completely different uses - the attraction of playing movies on the PSP (I believe my mate was watching Constantine at the time) is a big plus.

I have a PSP and it is definitely worth it. You can download music, photos, and videos (not UMD videos but video clips from your computer) on it. Plus it can play UMD which is just like DVD only much smaller and in a protective cartridge. Like someone said before though, the PSP and DS are aimed at different audiences. I think the PSP is the greatest thing to come out since masturbation!

The main sticking point with the PSP for me is the price. I bought the DS for £99 (approx $176). However the intended UK retail price for the PSP is £175 (approx $311).

That's a very short-sighted view, evo83. With the PSP one can watch a film, then listen to music, and than play a game. I believe you can also surf the net.

I have a DS and I love the games they have, but the PSP appears to offer a new dimension to home entertainment.

(since you're banned, this debate is moot)

ive got a DS and im not even thinking of buy'n a PSP cuz of the $_$
and i heard that the DS will be able 2 play movies and mp3 so the PSP only has better grafics
